Abstracts: Tutorial Overview ![]() The Blueprint Container is a recent addition to the OSGi Service Platform, introduced with the V4.2 specification. It provides a simple programming model for creating dynamic applications within the OSGi environment, without adding complexity to the Java code. This tutorial provides an introduction to general Blueprint concepts, followed by a hands on introduction to using Blueprint via a guided set of examples. The aim of the tutorial is to leave attendees with a basic understanding of best practices and a base from which to develop their own Blueprint applications. Pre Requisite Knowledge: To gain the most from the tutorial, attendees should be generally familiar with OSGi concepts, and the component oriented approach to programming with OSGi. NB: Attendees must bring a laptop with them in order to participate in the tutorial. Tutor Bio: Ozzy – Andrew Osborne (IBM) Ozzy joined IBM in 1997 and has worked on many software development projects mainly in IBM's WebSphere portfolio. His most recent interest is in working on the Apache Aries project, with particular focus on the Blueprint implementation. Ozzy's other interests include uses of digital video, webcasting and home theatre PCs. Ozzy holds a Bsc Hons in Computer Science from the University of Kent at Canterbury. Future Meetings
